NFL

 Jaguars vs. Falcons (-3, 37)

  • Star rookie RB Leonard Fournette has said he’d like to play a series or two after missing the second and third preseason games
  • Jacksonville WR, fourth round pick Dede Westbrook is questionable. You should great flashes in Game 1, but was hurt.

Lions (-3.5, 35.5) vs. Bills

  • Buffalo is extremely thin at QB that they signed Keith Wenning just to have enough. He is expected to be cut Friday
  • Rookie backup Nathan Peterman is the only other healthy signal caller

LA Rams vs. Packers (-3.5 -101, 38)

  • Rams coach Sean McVey quashed any speculation that developing QB Jared Goff and the starters would play. All will sit out
  • Teams off a home loss versus an opponent off road loss are 27-7 last five years and 86-57 since 1993 (favors Rams)

Bengals vs. Colts (-2, 36)

  • Bengals first-round WR John Ross made his debut on Sunday and hopes to get “a lot of snaps” Thursday

 Eagles vs. Jets (-1, 36)

  • Eagles backup QB Nick Foles will not take any snaps, despite not playing at all in the first three games
  • Unproven No. 3 QB Matt McGloin will likely get the start
  • Jets No. 3 QB Bryce Petty is questionable with sprained knee
  • If line +/- 3 points of pick, teams off a two game homestand are 40-15 (favors Eagles)

Free pick: PHILADELPHIA +1

Redskins vs. Buccaneers (-2.5, 36.5)

  • Look for Bucs rookie RB Jeremy Nichols to get extensive playing time. He’s been a bust so far and this is a chance to save his job. He was drafted 162 overall
  • Going against road teams averaging 90 or fewer rushing yards per game after getting less than 100 yards rushing each of the last two games is 41-18 (favors Tampa)
  • If line +/- 3 points of pick, teams off a two game homestand are 40-15 (favors Redskins)
  • Total dropped from 39 to 35.5
  • 60 percent chance of thunderstorms

Free pick: WASHINGTON +2.5

Bears vs. Browns (-3 -125, 36.5)

  • -3.5 and minus juice in some areas, so shop around at approved sportsbooks at com
  • There is a big battle for Cleveland’s backup QB among Brock Osweiler, Cody Kessler, and Kevin Hogan

Dolphins vs. Vikings (-3 -115, 37.5)

  • Minnesota will likely give playing time to two key WRs: Michael Floyd, who is suspended for the first four games of regular season and last year’s first-round pick Laquon Treadwell, who missed a lot of camp because of injury
    • Treadwill is battling for No. 3 WR spot

Titans vs. Chiefs (-3 -110, 37.5)

  • In a rare event, Tennessee is expected to play their starters though WR Corey Davis and Eric Decker probably will not play

Cardinals vs. Broncos (-2, 36)

  • Opened as Denver -4 and 1.5 can be had
  • Broncos backup QB Paxton Lynch it out and starter Trevor Siemian rested, so Kyle Sloter, and undrafted free agent gets the start and may play the entire game
    • He had just nine starts in his college career and is making the jump from Northern Colorado
    • He is an astounding 16-of-20 for 193 yards and two TDs
  • Hence total dropped from 38 to 35.5 or 36, check SBRodds.com

Chargers vs. 49ers (-3.5, 37.5)

  • Most, but not all starters will sit for San Francisco
  • Likely starters on defense will play where there is a lot of inexperience at CB, LB, and DL
  • When a team is allowing 60 percent or higher completion rate (San Francisco) and they’ve allowed 63 percent or more in consecutive games, it has gone under 57-35 including 12-3

 Seahawks (-2, 40) vs. Raiders

  • When a team is allowing 60 percent or higher completion rate (Oakland) and they’ve allowed 63 percent or more in consecutive games, it has gone under 57-35 including 12-3
  • Oakland went from -2.5 to +2
  • Often-injured Seattle RB C.J. Prosise is questionable. He has been cleared to play and could use the work, but Seahawks are not expected to risk yet another injury to him
