2013 MLB Betting – MLB Weekend Picks For Games On Saturday, September 14

Game 1: Chicago Cubs @ Pittsburgh Pirates – Saturday, September 14

No matter which bookie software you trust, you should feel confident about this game at a sportsbook. This tilt between the Cubs and Pirates should flow in Pittsburgh’s direction. The Pirates showed a lot of grit and resilience this past week, winning a series in Texas against the Rangers after being swept by the St. Louis Cardinals. The Pirates, having clinched the first winning season in franchise history since 1992, should return home from their extended road trip with a great deal of confidence and belief. Starting pitcher Gerrit Cole should be able to limit the Cubs’ impotent bats, thereby outdueling Chicago starter Scott Baker on Saturday night in the Steel City.

MLB Betting Pick: Pittsburgh

Game 2: Kansas City Royals @ Detroit Tigers – Saturday, September 14

When looking at bet online reviews, you will need to study this contest in overly great depth and detail before you make a play on it. Detroit is the better team than Kansas City, but the Royals are part of that five-team scramble for the American League’s final wild card spot. Accordingly, Kansas City will be playing with a great deal of urgency in this series, perhaps more than anything Detroit will bring to the table. One also has to point out that accumulated injuries – various bumps and bruises and aggravations to his body – have taken some bite out of Detroit slugger and superstar Miguel Cabrera. “Miggy” has not registered an extra-base hit in his last nine games, putting a crimp in the Tigers’ offense. This is a worrisome development for Detroit, which is trying to put away the American League Central Division quickly, in the hope that it can rest Cabrera for the final week of the season and have him ready to go for the playoffs. That strategy might backfire, though, and since Kansas City is sending starting pitcher Bruce Chen to the mound in this game, it might hold the upper hand on the Tigers. Chen has regularly flustered the Tigers in his career, and he beat Detroit this  past Sunday in Kansas City. Detroit pitcher Doug Fister is a really good starter, but Chen is in good position to beat him with Cabrera so noticeably struggling as a hitter right now. If Cabrera isn’t able to get the big hits, Kansas City becomes an attractive choice against Detroit, even if on the road in the Motor City.

MLB Betting Pick: Kansas City

Game 3: Seattle Mariners @ St. Louis Cardinals – Saturday, September 14

The sports betting sites that take action on Major League Baseball are going to lean strongly in one direction here; this is not a 50-50 call or anything close to it. Seattle’s James Paxton, making a September “call-up” start, is testing himself in this matchup against the Cardinals, who should be able to rough him up. St. Louis starter Michael Wacha should be able to contain Seattle’s bats and lead the Cardinals to a rather comfortable victory on home turf.

MLB Betting Pick: St. Louis
