Game 1: Washington Wizards @ San Antonio Spurs – Saturday, February 2
No matter which online bookie you trust, you should feel that the Spurs have a substantial edge in this situation. The betting websites that focus on basketball will tell you that you that San Antonio drilled Washington by 26 points in late November. They will also mention that the Spurs crushed the Wizards on the road (in the District of Columbia) when playing the second game of a back-to-back set. In other words, the Spurs hammered Washington on a night when San Antonio should have been tired and worn down by a grueling Eastern time zone road swing. Washington, it is true, has played much better basketball as of late, snagging quality road wins against the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets over the past two weeks, while also beating the Chicago Bulls at home. Washington is a different team compared to the one that was listlessly dragging through the first two months of the season.
Yet, with that having been said, one needs to realize that San Antonio just doesn’t lose very many games to teams that are not playoff contenders. The Spurs have lost only one game this season to an opponent with a losing record (to New Orleans on Jan. 7), and that game was on the road. The Spurs do not give away bad losses at home. This is such a strong and overpowering trend that one can’t begin to entertain the notion of picking the Wizards in this situation. San Antonio is the easy choice for every possible reason.

Game 2: Sacramento Kings @ New York Knicks – Saturday, February 2
It’s difficult to bet on sports, but when looking at bet online reviews, you have to think that the game between the Kings and the Knicks will not be particularly close. The Knicks are getting healthier before the All-Star break, as guard Raymond Felton – the heart of New York’s drive-and-kick offense – is back in the lineup. Felton’s speed enables the Knicks to play at a faster pace while spreading the court for the team’s array of capable three-point shooters. This style of offense works and gives opposing defenses so many matchup problems to worry about. Sacramento’s defense is not particularly robust or effective, making this a grim prospect for the Kings on a long East Coast swing.
The other thing to point out about this game is that it is a rematch of a late December game in Sacramento in which the Kings blew a lead of more than 20 points, fell behind by four with roughly two and a half minutes left in regulation, but snatched a win on a three-pointer at the buzzer by John Salmons. New York remembers that night in central California and will want to get some revenge. This is just not a good spot for the Kings at all.
NBA Betting Pick: New York
Game 3: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Cleveland Cavaliers – Saturday, February 2
The Cavaliers lost at home to a shorthanded Golden State team earlier this week. There’s nothing that could point a bettor to Cleveland in this game. All the indicators strongly suggest that Oklahoma City will lay a beatdown on the Cavs this Saturday night in Ohio.
