2012 NBA Betting – NBA Weekend Picks For Games On Sunday, December 23

Game 1: Philadelphia 76ers @ Brooklyn Nets – Sunday, December 23

The point needs to be made: If this were an online casino game, you would not want to put all your chips on the table and bet on the Nets. You would have to be cautious before ultimately making a selection here, and you wouldn’t want to bet a particularly large sum of money, either. The Nets are struggling. They’re trying to find themselves after a month of November in which they were clicking at both ends of the floor. You would have thought that the Nets were a near lock to beat the Utah Jazz at home this past Tuesday, since point guard Deron Williams left Utah with bitterness and dissatisfaction after engineering the power play that pried Jerry Sloan from the franchise. That Jazz-Nets game was supposed to be an evening when Williams, playing a Utah team that had been very substandard on the road this season, busted loose for a big game and led the Nets to a convincing triumph. Not only did the Nets lose, however; they lost while scoring just 90 points and seeing their halfcourt offense come to a grinding halt. This is not a team that can be trusted right now.

Expect various sports betting websites to make the Nets a slight favorite here. What will ultimately save Brooklyn is that its opponent, Philadelphia, is still without center Andrew Bynum, and is therefore not in position to play anywhere close to its best. The Sixers are muddling along near the .500 mark, and they’re not going to be any better than that unless or until Bynum can make a difference for them. Go with Brooklyn here… and with reservations.

NBA Betting Pick: Brooklyn

Game 2: Minnesota Timberwolves @ New York Knicks – Sunday, December 23

When making a bet on sports, you can’t go wrong with picking the best team in a conference. Sure, the Knicks were ambushed by the Houston Rockets earlier this week, but every team is going to have a stinker at some point in a long 82-game season. That’s just the nature of the beast. The Knicks aren’t likely to have many more of those kinds of games, at least not in the short run. Moreover, the week following a rare home loss is precisely the time when any really good NBA team gains more vigilance and awareness. The team stung by an unlikely ambush typically gains a wake-up call and makes sure that it won’t get caught with its pants down for a second time in a week. This vigilance is precisely what should enable the Knicks to regain their form and crush the Timberwolves at home.

NBA Betting Pick: New York

Game 3: Los Angeles Clippers @ Phoenix Suns – Sunday, December 23

When making a studious attempt at breaking down various betonline.com reviews, you should go with the better set of horses, the superior collection of talent, on most occasions. Los Angeles clearly has better players than Phoenix. These two teams met for a spot in the Western Conference Finals in the 2006 postseason, but that was six and a half years ago. The dynamics have changed in the West. Phoenix doesn’t have Steve Nash, Amare’ Stoudemire, or other game-changers, while the Clippers claim Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and several other high-impact players on their roster. Los Angeles doesn’t play the day before this game, while Phoenix will be coming off a road trip to Portland. Phoenix might be hosting this game, but that’s about the only advantage the Suns will have. The Clippers should bury them on Sunday evening.
