NFL Tim Donaghy Scandal is Officially Here

No fancy writing. No thesaurus. Just stating the obvious except it’s not coming from somebody who has been in the tank for the striking officials.

I’ve been less critical of the officials than most.  Not so much defending them, just making sure the criticism is fair such as on Twitter

It’s a classic case of no-win situation for the replacement refs. But it has gotten to the point of a national embarrassment. I’m a full-fledged convert to the complete incompetence to these flag football refs.

I was glad when the NFL took aggressive action against touts who claimed to have “inside info” and that games are fixed. Those boiler room touts gave us sports handicappers trying to do things the right way.

It’s gotten to the point where I want to know which gamblers have the skinny on which side and total the refs have. Honestly, the rules should allow possession to be reviewed.

But the biggest anti-conspiracy theorist thinks one word applies to what the officials are doing. And I don’t need a thesaurus.

The games are fixed.

It’s also the first time I’ve ever, ever stooped to this card. But I’m going to say it. The NFL has their own Tim Donaghy scandal. Only he and the striking refs can be laughing.

I must admit that some of the “noise” about funny money being bet I’ve heard defies coincidence in its accuracy. Time for me to start listening to the sources I’ve previously discredited.
