Olympics Closing Ceremony Start Time; Rams vs. Colts Prediction to Spread Top News

The Olympic Closing Ceremony, incorrectly called the “Closing Ceremonies” by some starts at 4 ET, though won’t be televised on NBC until hours later.

NFL predictions with spread have been uncanny by pro gamblers this season as the advisor to pro bettors GodsTips is 7-1.  Today’s NFL odds has Indianapolis (-1) with a total of 34.

Big picks are up on both the side and total, but first here is an MLB premium pick from The Canadian Crew :

Washington Nationals v Arizona Diamondbacks

Odds: WASH +115/AZ -125; 9 o/u

The Nationals are bringing their red-hot August streak to the red-hot deserts of Arizona today for a meeting with the Diamondbacks. Washington comes into the series with an 8-2 record for the month and should be very tough to beat.

A big question to ask going into this series is whether theses two teams can match the scoring derby they put up when they met back in May. Over the course of three games they scored a combined 75 runs(!). In all the three games, the winner scored 13 runs and all three were within two runs.

While neither team has seen a series like that since, the Nats especially are very capable hitters. They just outscored the Astros 17-9 while sweeping them in three games earlier in the week. The D-Backs, however, have had no such luck.

Coming into this series Arizona is 4-4 on the month, but seemed to be finding a hitting groove in their last couple games against the Pirates. Still, they’ll need to dig deep if they’re hoping to keep up with Washington today.

Starting out for the Nats is Ross Detweiler (6-4, 2.99 ERA). Detweiler is having a great year and can be expected to give D-Backs some trouble today. He’s shown an ability to hang in for long stretches, though don’t expect to see him throwing a lot of strikes. You have to go back to April to find a game when he’s struck out more than five. Still, it’s hard to argue with a 2.99 ERA.

On the mound for Arizona today is rookie Patrick Corbin (3-4, 3.53 ERA). This youngster has looked very good in his last couple starts and is showing a lot of maturity for a player his age. Over twelve innings in his last two starts, he’s only given up two runs on eight hits and struck out 12. Bettors underestimate him at their peril.

We expect Corbin to slow the Nats a bit today, so we’re going to avoid the over/under entirely in this game. Still, Washington has more weapons than the Diamondbacks will be able to handle.
