Matt Rivers of OffshoreInsiders.com winning pick Saturday is on the NY Mets.

Reasoning: I like Nathan Eovaldi as the guy is very good and should atone for that rare poor last start. The 0-4 record truly is not the righties fault as the lack of run support has been overly apparent. But how is he going to get support today? Matt Kemp is still out and Andre Ethier is expected to miss as well. So who does that leave to wreak some havoc? Juan Uribe, Dee Gordon, Bobby Abreu?

Johan Santana hasn’t been the same dominant guy since the no-hitter but he’s still Johan Santana and a guy that always has to be respected, if not outright feared. The lefty should give us six or seven quality enough innings and at around a pick how can I not back the experienced lefty along with what really is the better team on the field today. The Dodgers’ record is superior thanks to the great first few months to the season. But it’s not by all that much anymore and without their power sources I am fine in backing Santana, David Wright and the better than expected Mets.

Rivers pick: Mets

LA ANAHEIM (RICHARDS -115) Toronto (Alvarez)

Garrett Richards has a 4-0 team mark with a 1.63  ERA and 1.264 WHIP. Henderson Alvarez has a 4-11 team mark -9 units, including 1-7 home -8.2. Toronto has lost 3-of-4.  LA is 14-5 the last 19.

In their last seven games the Angels are hitting .349 with an OBP of .390, which is much better than Toro’s .316 OBP during that span. The team formally known as California is 14-2 their last 16 on the road. They are on a 25-9 overall tear.  Their last 10 games LA has a slugging percentage of .084 higher than the Jays and an OBP that’s actually .086 higher.

For more information: The single only way I don’t have a winning day is due to sheer horrific luck and that was exactly the case yesterday. The 400,000* Rangers allowed a two out hr in the top of the 9th inning to win 4-3 and not cover the 1 ½. Not much you can do about that, just sheer awful luck that will even up. A 1-1 day overall as the 200,000* White Sox won going away 14-7 in the Bronx which softened the blow. About to be 23 winning days in the last 32 as my 400,000* involving the Angels and Blue Jays takes care of business! Click now to purchase
