Red Sox vs. Orioles Free Sports Picks

Senior Handicapper Matt Rivers of has a free pick  Tuesday is on the Minnesota Twins.

Reasoning: Gavin Floyd can be lights out at times and is certainly better than PJ Walters. But the Minnesota righty has made a pair of quality starts this season and I’ll take my chances tonight at US Cellular.

The Twins aren’t good as the franchise has regressed mightily but the White Sox aren’t much of anything either, even if they did just go on the road and sweep the Cubs. Paul Konerko may or may not play and the Sox aren’t much of anything these days. Adam Dunn is certainly better than last season and once again is flexing his muscles but Robin Ventura’s club doesn’t scare me and to get such a big takeback against them in this spot is too good to pass up.

Mauer and Morneau are not what they used to be at all but they are lefty bats that will get a few hacks in on the right-hander in Floyd. The bottom line is that Floyd isn’t good enough to off-set this too high price against Gardy’s Twinkies.

Now from GodsTips: BOSTON (DOUBRONT -118) Baltimore (Matusz)

Here come the Red Sox and it looks like the O’s are beginning their fade. Boston is now 9-2 their last 11. Boston has a slugging percentage of .504 their last 10 games, which is .103 points higher than Baltimore in that span. Their last five games it’s .522 to .357.

Boston is 4-0 on the road with Doubront. He’s given up one earned run in each of his last two starts. Brian Matusz has a WHIP of 1.742 at home and 1.695 overall. The Sox are a stunning 17-4 on the road the last two years +13.9 units after 10 straight games with one or less errors.
