Kentucky Derby Odds, Lakers vs. Nuggets Free Picks, MLB Trends

What a weekend in sports. The NHL and NBA playoffs are here. Bodemeister is the favorite in the Kentucky Derby odds, and the real Matt Rivers has a Friday NBA winner is on the LA Lakers (+3.5) to Denver.

Reasoning: I fully understand what Denver in the altitude of the Mile High City can be as they are still a somewhat high scoring and talented team with a lot of solid enough parts. I love George Karl and respect the Nuggets in a spot like this as they have their backs to the wall. The problem is though that Kobe and the Lakers look extremely serious and are more focused than they have been in a long time. Andrew Bynum has been a complete monster and Kenneth Faried and the Nugs can’t really match up with him.

Besides Kobe and Bynum you also have a guy in Pau Gasol who is 17 and 10 and no joke. Gasol did look terrible last season in the playoffs but things are different now and this three headed monster along with a legitimate point guard in Ramon Sessions are no joke right now.

Denver will come with some game and fight hard but they are just not on the level of this Los Angeles squad right now. I don’t think the Lakers’ bench is yet anything to fear but things have improved and to get almost a handful with tonight’s intense and superior visitors is way too good to entirely pass up.

For more information: A monster 400,000* play on the NBA hardwoods involving the Hawks and Celtics along with a mystery 200,000* winner is up and available. The 200,000* Pirates plus a solid amount took care of business yesterday in St. Louis. The 300,000* Knicks certainly had issues in that second half in what was pretty much an even day overall. 17 of 26 winning days and the profit is an amazing 3.7 million*. Here we go baby! There is plenty of baseball information for today. Here are some of today’s strongest Major League Baseball trends:

  • The Diamondbacks are 9-32 (-23.4 units) in a game in which the moneyline on the team betting on/against is +/- 120 or less
  • The Phillies are 1-15 (-18.3 units) when they are off a win in which their opponent did not draw a walk and struck out fewer than ten times.
  • Washington 28-8 (+23.3 units) after a one run win
  • Pittsburgh is 1-16 (-16.1 units) according to best baseball handicappers in the first game of a home series when they are off a win in which they drew at most one walk and they were not a 250+ dog in that win
  • Kevin Correia is 16-5 (+14.1 units) vs. an NL team with a team batting average of .255 or worse
  • The White Sox 17-37 (-25.7 units) after four or more consecutive home games
