Two great sports betting experts have big sports picks on today’s card and they agree on the Oklahoma City Thunder (+3) to Dallas.
Here is what Matt Rivers says: Dallas at home can be very good and still are the champions until dethroned. I have no issues with the experience and talent and rigor from Dirk and his mates. I do though think that laying points to the much faster, better and more athletic squad is a bit much.
Sure I grabbed the points with the Mavericks in OKC. But now trailing 0-2 it’s hard for me to imagine Mark Cuban’s boys coming out with older slow guys like Kidd, Marion, Terry and Dirk and covering a number like this. Certainly 3 ½ isn’t a ton, I get that, but the Thunder are a semi elite squad that certainly can win this game so how can one not grab any number at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65zrW5x0j6A
Rick Carlisle’s squad will come out with some emotion in front of their fans but after 48 minutes we are looking at a toss up of a game making me just fine in grabbing whatever I can with superstars in Durant and Westbrook plus a very capable bunch of teammates that are the favorites to play Miami in the finals.
I expect a back and forth fight to the finish and would not at all be shocked in a Dallas win but Oklahoma City cover.
This are free points as far as I’m concerned, period. Go with Dallas.
Bill Tanner of OffshoreInsiders.com, which has the top sports betting tips video channel on YouTube says:
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks
The second seed in the Western Conference will look to put the defending champions one step closer to elimination on Thursday night. The Oklahoma City lead the Western Conference quarterfinals series over Dallas 2-0. The Thunder won both games by slim margins thus far.
The Dallas Mavericks will need a win to not be on the ropes in the first round. The Mavericks feel like they had a chance to win both games thus far. Dallas is led by Dirk Nowitzki, who is scoring 21.6 points per game. The Mavericks saw Nowtizki pour in 32 in the game two loss.
Oklahoma City has the 1-2 punch of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Westbrook led the Thunder in scoring in game two with 29 points. Kevin Durant ripped down 10 rebounds in the win. During the regular season, Oklahoma City led the Western Conference most of the season, before being passed by San Antonio late in the season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder come into the game with a 35-33 record against the spread on the season. The Thunder, in games played on the road finished with a 21-12 record. Dallas comes in with a .500 record of 34-34 against the spread. The Mavericks were 31-10 at home. We like Oklahoma City to win this game.
