Marquette vs. West Virginia Sports Handicapper Preview

Senior Handicapper Matt Rivers of has a free pick winner for Friday is on West Virginia (-1) to Marquette.

Reasoning: I truly could not have been any more disappointed in the Mountaineers in Notre Dame on Wednesday night. To say they wet the bed in that second half would be the understatements of understatements. Today Bob Huggins’ squad plays host to what has become a very good and dangerous team led by a star in Darius Johnson-Odom. Buzz Williams has his team firing away and looking like a legitimate Big East powerhouse. Beating Huggy is going to be a bear tonight

With the above said though Kevin Jones is a stud and at home the Mounties should flat out win this game. The price is cheap even if the superior team has been today’s visitors and with a much needed win at 7-8 in-conference it’s hard for me to envision Jones, Truck Bryant, big foreign beast Kilicli and the rest of the Mounties losing this game no matter what this season has shown up to this point.

I definitely will give the Golden Eagles a ton of credit for their play and for the way they have gone on the road and continued to have success. In the past Marquette would be great at home and then not so great on the road. But things have improved in that capacity with Johnson-Odom, Jae Crowder, Junior Cadougan leading the way to the overall 23-5 record and 12-3 conference mark. Buzz’ boys have also won four straight and 11 of their last 12 so in the end I’m not going to sit here and try and bash them because that would be somewhat silly.

The bottom line is that we are talking about a team that is a bit overvalued and one that is a bit undervalued and to get West Virginia in Morgantown at this cheap price is just too cheap.

Top expert pick on this game: West Virginia

For more information: A couple of subpar days throwing a little bit back after the 1-1 Thursday, nothing too bad but certainly nothing great. Overall this is what we are looking at: It’s now 17 of 27 winning days, a 27-15-3 overall run in which my teams have covered by an amazing 93 points (yes, that includes the losses) and the profit is a whopping 3.1 million stars. One play today as I get back on the bus and it comes from the college hardwoods in the form of a 400,000*. The confidence is as high as ever and you’ll see just why! Click now to purchase
