Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina Free Plays

Senior Handicapper Matt Rivers of has a free pick winner for Sunday is on North Carolina (-21) to Georgia Tech.

Reasoning: It’s a ton of lumber to lay and to do such in a conference game like this is borderline crazy, I admit that. Furthermore in good conscience I could not ever make a major play on such a hefty chalk. But with that said how is Georgia Tech going to compete in this thing? Seriously? Brian Gregory has come in and done next to nothing and the Yellow Jackets overall are just dreadful and pretty much getting worse by the game.

This season was going to be a difficult one and everybody knew it but I’m not sure if many people realized how much of a regression there would be. Paul Hewitt was fired and in came the former Dayton coach. The move was curious to begin with as Gregory didn’t do all that much with the Flyers and in effect was getting a pretty good promotion coming to Atlanta and Tech. Then you have the factor of being a nomadic team with no home as Alexander Memorial was pretty much torn down and in the process of being rebuilt leaving these guys to play at Philips Arena and the Gwinnett Civic Center for the entire season. So there really hasn’t been much of a home court advantage leading to more losses and a lack of overall team confidence.

The biggest problem for Tech though is the lack of talent. Sure they are an ACC team and therefore have some quality guys like a Glen Rice, Jr. and a Kameron Holsey but all in all this squad has been brutal and today could lose by 40.

North Carolina hasn’t exactly overachieved this season but their talent is as good as any in the country with Henson, Barnes, Zeller and other blue chip athletes and today at the Dean Dome should be able to run away and hide. The Heels can get out on the break and score with the best of them and they face a team that has struggled mightily to even hit the 50 point mark and even 40 in that debacle last week against Virginia.

We may see the underdog Jackets hang for an early stint but they have lost eight of their last 9 games for a reason and after 40 minutes this is probably David against Goliath and a total burial.

Top expert pick on this game: North Carolina

For more information: Things have been phenomenal of late, says Matt Rivers, as I took care of business once again yesterday in yet another 2-0 sweep. 400,000* VCU cashed that ticket at a pick and the 200,000* on the Wizards completed the sweep. Oh and don’t let the one point final fool you with the Rams as Georgia State hit a meaningless half court bank shot at the buzzer to make the final cosmetically closer than it truly was. Five straight winning days, a 8-0 run in which my teams have literally covered by 75 points and now a whopping 2.8 million stars of profit in less than the last week alone. Nothing at all changes today as I continue to shovel dirt on that Crookie’s grave.

One play today and it’s in this Pac-12 near pick-em affair out west between Oregon State and Oregon. Both teams have been pretty solid this season. One takes care of business going away and I mean going away! Click now to purchase
