Free Basketball Predictions From Top Vegas Expert Matt Rivers

Senior Handicapper Matt Rivers of has a free pick Thursday is on Boston College (+17.5) to Virginia.

Reasoning: No doubt the Eagles have regressed mightily and the term dog with fleas certainly could apply to them unlike the improving Virginia Cavaliers but this number is just too much.

UVA very well may be the fourth best team in the ACC behind Duke, North Carolina and the suddenly surging boys from Florida State but can this still mediocre offense really be laying such a hefty number? They were just upset in Charlottesville, 47-45, by an extremely average Virginia Tech squad. Sure that was an off game and the Cavs have had some impressive outings including almost winning outright at Cameron Indoor a few weeks back against Duke in the easy cover. 15-3 is 15-3, I get it, and Mike Scott is an extremely talented player leading the way. I expect win number 16 to happen today against what is a bad Boston College team, I’ve never doubted that, but UVA just doesn’t score enough to give merit to this number.

Virginia routinely musters in the 50’s and no matter how poor BC has become assuming they score anything less than 50 is just silly and that force Virginia to basically get in the 70’s which I just don’t see happening. They have scored 45, 70, 58, 52, 57 and 57 in their last six outings and one of those included a pathetically pedestrian seven point win against literally the worst team in the country in 0-22 Towson.

The Eagles were just embarrassed at home by a bad Wake Forest squad and are about to fall to 7-13. But I am just fine grabbing almost 20 points and taking my chances that this thing does not get too out of hand.

Will BC be the spread team to bet?

Top expert pick on this game: Boston College

For more information: You’re darn right I did it again yesterday and to say that the 2-0 sweep was easy is the understatement of the century. The 400,000* Wizards literally never trailed at any point in the entire game and won going away by a billion. The 200,000* on Southern Mississippi completed the sweep by cashing that ticket going away as well. Even my comp play on DePaul won outright as the 10-point dog. It’s now an overall 13-5 paid hoops run, not including the Blue Demons, and 4-0 over the last two days for a cool 1.3 million stars of profit. I am on-fire and things are just getting started, that you can take to the bank!

One college hoops winner today, another 400,000* bomb, and it’s one of the most obscure games on the board. In fact a lot of people probably don’t even realize this game exists. But it has a ton, and I mean a ton, of value and I’m therefore dropping a bomb and watching my team cover by double digits in the end. I will say once again, do not miss out.
