Mets Great Bet Says Sportsbook Odds Guru Matt Rivers Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers has a free pick winner for Thursday is on the Mets.

Reasoning: Why not back the suddenly surging Mets? Certainly Justin Verlander at anytime can be lights out but New York’s inferior team has been playing great of late. These guys are even now over .500 and that is pretty much without both David Wright and Ike Davis. Certainly it’s going to be tough to win again on the road at Comerica and especially up against a superstar but Jim Leyland’s Tigers really aren’t that good.

Today is not Justin Verlander's day says expert

Miguel Cabrera is tremendous and pretty much always the best hitter on the field but Detroit is extremely mediocre overall and right now the Mets offense has been destroying anything in their way. Just look at the numbers that Reyes, Bay, Beltran and the boys are putting up of late, it’s insane. They have now won four in a row and bashed away to the tune of 14, 8, 14 and 16 runs in those games. Just think about that for a second, that’s crazy. Plus it’s not like Alexi Ogando, Derek Holland and Rick Porcello are stiffs. I’m not clueless and do realize that the Mets aren’t going anywhere anytime soon as the organization is a joke overall and this hot streak is half an aberation but Mike Pelfrey at times can be really good and at this price it’s worth a shot.

If Verlander is lights out once again the the Tigers win going away as any big league team can then so be it. This scenario can happen but to get these sizzling visitors and around that $2 mark is enough for me to give it a go in the end.
