Sports Handicapper Says Yet Another Dog Wins: Cardinals-Orioles Preview Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers has a comp winner is on the St. Louis Cardinals (+125) to Baltimore.

Reasoning: This is not going to be an easy game at all without Albert Pujols and going to an American League park against a decent enough Baltimore team but Tony LaRussa is a former American League manager who knows the deal and his Redbirds are still a competent enough team to get the job done today.

Kyle Lohse has had an outstanding season. Yes things have not been as great of late as he has consistently been allowing four runs an outing but the guy is still in the midst of one of his better seasons and is capable enough here at Camden Yards.

I like the Orioles and I like the lefty in Zach Britton. I have backed both at times this season but for this mediocre at the very best Baltimore team to be a fairly decent sized chalk like this just doesn’t feel right. I’ll back Buck’s boys when getting some money back as Markakis, Lee, Vlad and a few others are alright but these guys aren’t a favorite type team that can be laying numbers as they are still basically a 77 win team at best.

Don't stand around: Bet St. Louis now says expert

St. Louis is still the superior and more well rounded overall team with Berkman, Holliday, Rasmus and a few others. Certainly missing Albert is huge and the end all if he is out for a long period of time but it’s not like the Orioles are even one of the average teams in their division. Baltimore is all right but let’s not go crazy. For the O’s to be the favorite here against the Cards is a bit much as St. Louis’ right-handed bats definitely have enough to win this game in the end.

Top expert pick on this game: St. Louis

For more information: Sometimes the stars aren’t aligned and all you can do is laugh. Thankfully I didn’t play action points yesterday as my two plays on the Twins and Rays were outscored by a combined 20-0, now that’s a first for sure and more than likely a last. Right back on that horse and raising the bar today with a 400,000* from Safeco involving the Braves and Mariners. Bonus 200,000* Red Sox and Phillies. I’m the best there is and will prove it yet again.  Click now to purchase Matt Rivers card for tonight
